Error canon rebel 5

Hi I own a canon rebel t5 and just now the led stays dark and can't access the menu options. Please can you inform me how to fix it?

Call Canon and send it in for repair - it might work if you hook up an external monitor to the HDMI port - which would be a good troubleshooting step, but hardly a workable solution.

Make sure the battery and the memory card doors are properly closed.  Both doors have switches on them, and if either switch thinks the door is open then the camera will not power up, which will keep the LCD screen dark.  Your camera would not be able to take a picture.
