Issues with memory card

So I just got a brand new Rebel T5, and I put in a memory card I had from another camera (a sandisk) and I reformatted it. It doesnt show any errors, but it doesnt save pictures! What is going on? How can I fix it?

Please explain "doesn't save pictures ". Do you mean the camera won't fire, or do you mean it takes a photo but you can't find it on card? 

Did your format in camera? Do you have a different card to try? Did you turn off the option to take photo with no card in camera.
