Error 99 on 350D?

So, my (t)rusty old 350D blocks with err 99. It doesn't err without flash card or lens, cleaned the lens contacts for both camera and EFS 17-85 IS USM, to no avail. Anything else I can try?

In the process of elimination, try a different lens first. If you still get the same error, you know it's not the lens.

Good point. Unfortunately, I have no other lens around. I will ask the service department of the nearest Canon dealer, and hope they can sort me out.

They tried my body with another lens, and it worked. So, it is the lens.
