Sorry. I can't help. I looked inside mirror chamber of my T4i and can't see anything like it.

I don't know what that part is but I can tell you Canon does not put anything in there that the camera does not need.

So, if it is a Canon part, not a foreign part, your camera needs to go to Canon service.

Agree. If the camera works it's a foreign part. I can't see anywhere in mirror box or lens where it would come from. Almost looks like part of an SD card reader, but there should be more contacts.
