I just purchased the Canon Rebel t7 and opened the package today and am setting everything up. I can’t take a picture because I keep getting the Err 30 message. Should I just send everything back to Amazon. I am so disappointed. I’ve taken out the battery several times and it doesn’t clear it.

Error 30 is usually a shutter issue but on some models a battery issue will also trigger this error. Remove and reinstall the battery and check to see whether the camera indicates the battery is charged. If the error 30 continues, send it back to Amazon.
Also be careful with this process IF this camera was fulfilled by a third party seller through the Amazon E-market instead of being sold by Amazon itself. Amazon is an authorized Canon retailer but there are other sellers using its platform who are not and most of these are grey market goods intended for sale in other countries and they won't carry a U.S. warranty. If this one is grey market, just return it and don't exchange it but instead get a refund and then buy a replacement through Amazon itself or another authorized Canon retailer so that you will have full warranty access.

You don't have to "set anything up" for the camera to be able to take pictures right out of the box, other than putting the battery in and mounting the included lens, regardless of it being a gray-market camera or a US-market camera. Return it now.

Thank you, by setting up I just meant like the date and time etc. I did return it
