Is the UHS-1 SDHC card comptable with the T6?

Yes.  Check page 5 in your instruction manual.  I recommend "Class 10" SDHC cards, about 32GB is all you really need.

That's the one.  Notice how there is no mention of micro-SD cards.  Only use full size cards in your camera.
