Is there a way to connect the T6 to a pc (windows 10) to record without using the usb? I want to connect a mic using the usb with an adapter. What is the point of the hdmi port?  Thanks.

msqito,

I might be wrong, and if I am, I apologize ahead of time, but I get the impression that in order to stream video requires Canon's EOS Webcam Utility, and that requires using a USB Cable.

With still photo shooting, you can use the regular EOS Utility, and you can operate that over WiFi, but streaming requires the Webcam Utility. You might check ahead of time to make sure your Canon model is supported.

If you have clean HDMI output, you can connect your HDMI Cable to an HDMI capture card, and plug that card into a USB port on your computer. If you want to save the video crossing your computer screen, you'll need some kind of screen capturing software.
