Hi! I’m not sure exactly what details to give about the problem that I’m having. I am using Zoom with my EOS T5 and I can’t get the sidebars off of the Zoom window. I read that my camera might be too old to be able to get the regular Zoom window. I would appreciate some advice if anyone knows, thank you so much!

Hi Kristie and welcome to the forum:
When you talk about sidebars, what are you doing when you see this?
If this is to do with the Image Quality, then look at P84 in the Advanced User Guide on how to set the image resolutions.
If in doubt refer to P190 on how to clear all camera settings

Thank you so much Tronhard, I appreciate your suggestions. I tried that and the side bars are still there while in Zoom 😞 I read that I need clean output and very sure that my camera is too old. I’m working on hopefully getting a newer camera. 🙂

Kristie, I get that you were using the software Zoom with your camera, I mis-read it as a Zoom lens! Duh...
Yep, I think you may have some issues with the age of the camera in that context, considering its age and it does not give clean output from what I understand.

I thought you meant the same ‘zoom’ as what I did 😊 I’m excited to get a new camera! 🙂

Are you speaking to letterboxing/pillarboxing? Check to see if your movie settings is using an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 4:3. The latter would end up with black bars to the left and right.

Hi es-eos! Thank you so much for giving me the suggestion! I’m not able to get the sidebars off doing that either. I am sure my camera is too old, I’m working on getting a newer Canon camera 🙂 I have tried a couple different webcams and the quality wasn’t very good at all.
