It is okay when it is in A-DEP, M, AV, TV, but once it gets to P, it fully throws off the dial and when I move it to the settings past it, it's not the correct mode. It won't even let me access Sports mode at all. I reset the camera settings, turned it on and off, but it still didn't work...

Hi trinityburge,
I'm sorry to hear your mode dial isn't working correctly. There aren't any settings on the EOS Rebel T3 that would cause the mode dial to act like that. When the mode dial is turned to the next mode the camera should always switch to that mode. If it is not switching modes that indicates part of the mode dial itself is damaged.
Normally we would recommend sending the camera in for repair for a mode dial issue, but the EOS Rebel T3 is out of service life. Due to that there aren't any repair options available for that model through Canon. The only option available for the EOS Rebel T3 through Canon would be the Canon Upgrade Program.
Through the Canon Upgrade Program we would be able to generate a 10% discount code you could use to purchase replacement equipment. If you want use the Canon Upgrade Program you will need to call our sales team at 1-800-385-2155 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time Monday through Saturday. They will also be able to assist you if you have questions about buying products, when products will be back in stock, and what products the discount code can be used on.
