I have an EOS Rebel 300D that has been in storage for 6 years. I have it up and running, taking good pictures, but I have not been able to download picture to my desktop. I have not been able to fine driver support.

Using a card reader works best. There have been signicabt changes to how computer ports operate since your camera was released. It is like your camera uses leaded gas, but all they sell today is unleaded gas.

Go to the Menu system and set PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol) in the Communication section.
