EOS R7 Single Point AF

oliveJar

Hello, I am a bird photographer. I just purchased an EOS R7 and like the subject tracking and eye detection AF. In my old EOS 80D I had the option to pick a single point and the camera would focus on that point only. I sometimes need this capability while photographing a single bird out of a flock. Is this sort of capability available on the R7? I cannot seem to find it.

Thank you everyone for the replies.

I got the camera set up the way i want.  I was able to get it to focus on a single bird or use eye tracking as desired.

Hello,

The eye focus works well if the subject is reasonably close or isolated.  If it is in a group or at a fair distance the eye is not always detected.  There may be a better method, but, I use the custom settings C1 (eye focus) and C2 (spot focus or single point), C1 is for single birds where the eye can be detected and I switch to C2 for when the bird is in a group or distant.  I use back button focus AF-on for each of these modes and the AE Lock (*) button in either mode to capture a flying bird.  Here are my basic settings:
