Hello, since Canon Support has not given me a suitable solution, I'll try it here.
I have owned the eos r7 for a long time for taking photos. Recently also for filming. I have bought an external monitor (Feelworld F5 ProX) which works with HDMI so everything fits with the inputs on the camera.
But now I have the problem that if I want to use both displays (camera screen and external monitor) it doesn't work. It works but the recording cannot be started. So with the EOS r7 there is no way to start a recording with Clean HDMI. It is possible to use only one display, i.e. without camera screen only with external monitor, but then I have all symbols on the external monitor, so no "Clean HDMI" image.
So my question. Does anyone here use the eos r7 Professionel for filming with an external monitor (without recording function) and can tell me how or what he did? I bought the external monitor to have another display without the camera symbols and also Not top have all the symbols on the other monitor.
Maybe there is someone who has/had exactly the same problem and has a suitable or practical solution how to film professionally despite the problem.
Just let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately selecting clean hdmi output means no in-camera recording.
You have a choice of clean hdmi output and no in-camera recording OR symbols on the hdmi output and in-camera recording.

Okay, yes, I've already found that out. Is there any way that I can get clean HDMI via a gadget or a device that I attach to my camera rig? Similar to when I connect the cam to my PC and put a capture card in between to get Clean HDMI. So my question is if there is anyone here who works with an eos r7 and an external monitor and has somehow managed to get Clean HDMI or an external monitor without the camera icons.
Is there actually a reason why Canon does not offer to record with Clean HDMI? Other camera brands have this too. Or do you think there might be an update in the future to change this?

Most likely the reason is heat generation inside the camera. But I'm not a Canon camera designer.

simon_1,
One option might be to use an HDMI capture card.
