EOS R6 Mark II quick control dial 1 doesn't work

Just bought my new camera 3 days ago and for some reason Quick control dial doesn't work. I've tried resetting all settings to default, pulling battery out and leaving camera for sometime. Could it be product defect and what should I do in this case?

If the camera has a lock switch which controls the quick control dial. Make sure it's not in the lock position. If not I would return the camera under warranty.

It has lock switch but i was checking with Lock disabled.

I would also check to see if a Custom Function or a Custom Control isn't causing this problem. Are you using ANY 3rd party items on the camera. If so remove them and retest the camera. Also check with the lens (and mount adapter if used) memory card removed. If not exchange the camera for a different one since it was purchased recently.

This happened to me today with my mkii during a wedding and I’m pretty upset about it. This wasn’t the first time it happened either but the other time was just during some photos for a friend and I didn’t think much of it. The control ring will work sometimes and then just completely stop working. I’ll be contacting canon ASAP.

Same issue just started happening with my new R6 Mark ii that I bought just a couple of weeks ago! 😞

Use your warranty and replace the camera

Greetings,

Any loss of physical control which is not due to a software setting or 3rd party accessory should be addressed immediately.  Don't wait for it to happen again.  If you are beyond your return window with the retailer, contact Canon.  I understand that many body's represent a substantial investment, so getting a CarePak at the time of purchase or within 30 days is also recommended.
