R6 Mark ii High Speed drive ... doesn't stop taking photos after releasing shutter button. The body was sent back under warranty. Under close scrutiny the problem still exists. It appears when using back button focus and modulating or sometimes holding the button down causes the shutter to "stick", for lack of a better word, in High speed. I also replicated it in low speed continuous. If you just shoot with the shutter button it doesn't happen. It happens in conjunction with the back button focus button. It was $100 to insure to UPS it there. I am not paying that again.... They are getting a call tomorrow AM.

Exactly my case. The local Canon authorized dealer was unable to solve this. Very annoying. Camera still under warranty.

Thank you for posting this thread. I am glad to hear of all the replies from people having the same issue. It’s nice that they are posting in this thread and not starting a new one so we can see how many complaints there are, all in one thread.
I purchased my R6 mkii in April for my son’s All Star Football game and did not have any issues with the continuous shooting. Once I experimented with the settings, I changed to BBF. During the fall I picked the camera up again for my other son’s football game. Within the first few minutes the shutter would not stop and I had to turn the power off. It only did it once that game. It did it once during the next game a week later but then it stopped for a week or two.
Then it malfunctioned four times in one game. I was using the Sigma EF 150-600 Sport every time it occurred. Two weeks ago I purchased a RF 70-200 since the Sigma wasn’t great when the sun set and it hasn’t done it yet BUT I am not using the shutter in continuous shooting like I was due to the malfunctioning.
I took it in to the local Canon retailer and of course he hasn’t heard of this issue but would send it to Canon. He said there is an approximate 4 week turn around time which is not acceptable to me during football season. It will go back after this season.

Please start a new thread for your issue. It becomes confusing when multiple members join a thread with their own set of issues. Thanks, in advance.

Not a new issue, same as the OP.
Appropriate to post my response to confirm the OP’s issue is the same as others and he should be aware of other people having the same issue.
No need to start a new thread.

R6mkII FW version 1.4.0 and later contains the following fix.
4-7. Fixes an issue that may cause the camera to continue shooting when the user presses the shutter button and another button at the same time.
*Your issue could be caused by different variables, so all users should start their own topics, even if the behavior appears to be similar. Having the same camera exhibiting similar behavior doesn't mean "me too". Hardware in use, lens, grip, accessories, settings, storage media and firmware version is 99.9% of the time different.

interesting. i had the 1.1.3 version and just performed the update to 1.5. I dont seem to have any other issues except and occasional freeze which i think is caused by the non canon adapter for EF lens use. I havent used the H+ lately, only H for HDR shots but i will keep an eye out and report back if the shutter issue arises.
