EOS R5 - Shoot only once in continuous mode

My Canon R5 takes one shot only in Manual, SIngle Shutter and electronic Modes. Single shutter should be around 12 fps and electric shutte raround 20 fps. I can't find in the menu how to specifiy the shot rate--I would assume that selecting single or electric shutter should suffice. I have gone over the setup at least 3 times; I have also reset the camera 3 time, and I have reinstalled the firmware--All to no avail. Please help!? I was hoping to fix this myself, but I have run out of ideas. Please help!? Thanks

A quick and easy way to find out if your settings are an issue is to test the camera in Intelligent Auto Mode, the green [A+] mode.  Try testing different drive modes.

I get one shot only, in any shutter mode, I think I have trouble shot  effectively. The camera has not been dropped or otherwise been subjected to any adverse conditions. Either something is wrong with the camera, or I have  unknowingly done something to the camera.
