EOS R5 Mark II vs R5 hot shoe issue?

JTLCVILLE

Does the R5 Mk2 have the design flaw (loosens/breaks) with the hotshoe mount the R5 and R6 have? I have 2 broken/loose R5 hotshoes and don't want to have the same issue. I'm a long time CPS member, and busy event photographer in Virginia. Canon doesn't seem to want to repair these w/out the $$$ repair charges. I'm back to using my older DSLR bodies for weddings, but want to move forward with a better Canon camera. Looking at R3 also. Thanks for any help/advice!

Hi,
I adjusted the length of the pin on my R5II hotshoe, so removing it is easier, it is actually the opposite of being loose, it is rock solid in place...
I remove it and place it back daily, and so far have not experienced nor observed any structural damage.

Thanks Cybrilbrd, I did end up getting an R5M2 and it seems to have a better design and the cap is nice I guess. I was specifically referring to the design flaw on the R5 (I have 2 broken hotshoes just from using a flash). But the R52 so far seems better. I can use flash again! Hesitant so spend a grand fixing the R5's when it wasn't really my fault. Thanks for the advice!
