Can someone please help me to decide the best choice for my new R5 MKII memory card and why? Is it the CFexpress Type B, or the SD/SDHC/XDSC?
Thank you for your advice.
Steve

Thanks. I read on. It looks like packaging with an * or blue dot are updated and are now compatible. That's great news!

It's also important to know that things might also not appear as they seem and why @shadowsports point
Make sure (No matter which brand you purchase ) you purchase from a reputable vendor. Counterfeit cards are out there, so beware.
is so important to purchase from a reputable dealer.

Hi again Rick,
I have attached a photo of the card I purchased from B&H in hopes that SanDisk manufactured it and that it is reliable, as opposed to "fake".
Your thoughts, please.
Thank you,

Greetings,
It's very difficult to tell the validity of storage media from a picture. Watch the video above. I would avoid Amazon, eBay or Walmart marketplaces. Most importantly, buy from a reputable dealer like B&H or Adorama. 😉

@watash1965 edit....scroll down on page 2, I attached a video.
And I would say with about 99% certainty that the card purchased from BH photo is authentic.

Once again, I need to reach out for help. I appreciate anyone who can share knowledge on shooting RAW in the normal high-speed continuous burst mode using my Canon R5 MKII.
Do I ned a Type B card to do this?

If you do, can you please let me know which memory card you use and what types of photos you are takeing in this mode?
Thank you, Steve

Since going digital in the early 2000's, I've always used SanDisk brand cards and have never had a failure and get very close to the speeds advertised.
When using my R5 II, I do shoot H1 burst for all birds, perched or in flight. This represents roughly 60% of my photos, the rest are insects and plants which includes macro and focus bracketing (bracketing uses high speed).
The two cards I use now are the 128GB CFe Extreme Pro (w/1200MBs - r/1700MBs) and the 64GB SD Extreme Pro SDXC v90 II UHS 3, C10 (I think that means it won't drop below 10MBs). It's rated r/w 300MBs. I can't find the v90 64 any more, not sure why.
