EOS R5 Mark II 1.1.1 update not installing

Armando1

I downloaded the update file to my computer, copied it to my memory card, inserted into my camera, and eventually got the message, “Memory card containing firmware is required to update.”  I press OK and the previous screen comes up.  It seems like my camera cannot see the file.  I tried this with my SD card and with my CF Express B card.  I tried it with one slot empty.  My current version is 1.0.2 , which is not the immediately previous version.

Is there something I’m missing?

Greetings ,

The same question applies .  Was the download unzipped or extracted? Only the .fir file is copied to the SD card.  Did you remove the CF Express B card temporarily?

Please confirm the model of your camera for us?

Greetings,

Firmware updates are cumulative.  You can go from a previous version to the latest, skipping what's in between.

Did you unzip or extract the firmware file?  Only the .FIR file gets copied to the root of your SD card.  Remove the CF Exlress B card temporarily during the upgrade.
