Hey,
I have an urgent problem because my red video record button on my EOS R got stuck.
It moves a little still but doesn’t come up in its normal position. Now when I turn the camera on my camera instantly starts recording with no way to stop.
I am desperate for an easy fix because I am in Vietnam right now.
Any Advice would be appreciated because there is almost no information online.
Thanks in advance
Thore

My suggestion is to take the card out - stopping the camera recording.
Then see if you can access the camera menu, and the custom buttons. There you should be able to change the record button so that its function is OFF. The key will be if the camera allows you to access the menu while the button is forced down, I don't have an EOS R but it worked when I tried with EOS R6.

Greetings ,
This sounds like a horrible situation and I'm sorry to hear about it. Try the corner of a business card and see if you can gently work it around the button to bring it up and / or out a bit. Only suggestion I have, good luck.

Thank you, a combination of the two did the trick. Worked my way around the settings changed it and then had the idea of holding the camera upside down while using a toothpick to I got it free. The Settings I changed back but I’m glad to be able to take pictures again.
Thank you both and have a nice day.
