EOS R Focus Assist available for the EOS RP?

Any chance of a firmware upgrade to the RP that would include the R "focus assist" feature?

I really doubt it. FW updates don't generally offer features not present on the camera in the first place but are usually bug fixes, etc. But who knows?

No. I have the RP and the most recent firmware (ver. 1.6.0), which is nigh on 3 years old. I can't imagine why they would update the FW again at this point. Certainly not for focus assist.

The. RP does [offer] Manual Focus Peaking, which all Canon MILC bodies seem to have.

I've used the focus peaking feature, but I've found it to be a little iffy regardless of the color chosen depending on the subject and lighting. Just looks as though the "assist" feature might be a little more precise, but perhaps no better. Thanks.
