EOS D60 won't turn on, battery won't charge

Hi I have a canon d60   I haven't used it in 3 years so I am buying new battery.  Battery won't charge any more. But anyways.   I really want to get the camera serviced plus I can't turn it on.   Even when battery was charged nothing came on the town I live in southern Arizona only has phone repairs. They said if I brought it in they would figure it out.  Humm. No.     So what do you all suggest.  Yes I have ordered new battery from Amazon.     Getting ready to take some trips and want my camera to work

Greetings,

I don't believe the 60D is still being serviced by Canon.  Its about 14 years old.  You might find a local repair shop, but this too may be challenging, due to parts availability.

What lenses do you own?

Have you considered upgrading to mirrorless?  This may prove to be more economical/reliable in the long run.

@shadowsports @Stephen Canon also made an EOS D60 Digital SLR if that's really the camera they have. I can see where the confusion can come in. It would be slim to none finding parts for it. Also Canon no longer services this model anymore. Note this is an early APS-C DSLR it CAN NOT use EF-S lenses. It predates EF-S lenses by a few years. So your only choice is to use Full Frame EF lenses. The EOS D30 EOS 10D are the same way. With the introduction of the EOS 20D EOS 300D/ EOS Digital Rebel EF-S lenses would be compatible.

omg you're right i totally forgot about that 🤦‍

Hi yes gonna buy a d90 on payday

I wouldn't recommend investing in the EF Mount anymore. The EOS R series MILC have greatly surpassed the AF systems in DSLR cameras. Then support for DSLRs is nearing the end. So who knows how long Canon will support it. With the RF Mount you'll know you'll be supported for years by Canon.

DON'T - STOP and give us some more information. I support deebatman31's comments about not buying into DSLRs any more - they are on life support and the few models available for sale are being reduced. The way to go is the R-series Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras (MILCs).  To help you with what model to go for, it would be helpful to know the following:
What lenses do you currently have - please be SPECIFIC, there are often multiple models for each focal range
What is your budget $value?
What subjects do you shoot?
What do you produce - social media, digital display, small-medium prints, or very large detailed prints?

Please STOP and let us help you with this as this investment may last you a while!

Hello Sherylynn,

Thank you for reaching out!

If your camera is the EOS 6D, it was retired in 2019. As a result, all official Canon support has ceased. We no longer perform repairs or have parts for that unit.

To explore Canon's latest technologies, we recommend contacting our Canon Upgrade Program Specialists at 1-866-443-8002, available Monday through Friday.

We hope you have a great day!

Don't even open the packaging. Return the battery back to Amazon for a refund. I would not waste any more time or money trying to revive a piece of dead tech. Look into mirrorless. The day of the horse and buggy is over.
