I’ve charged the battery and done normal take the battery pack off and moved stuff around but the camera will only turn on for either a short amount before it stops working, or just turns the top screen on and nothing else. Is there anything to do for the vintage camera??

This camera is 24 years old. What to do with it is......replace it. It is failing and not worth fixing, even if there was someone out there to try it.

I don't know where you are located but I have had success using independent repair shops with old digital cameras. Recently I had an Olympus C-7070 (2005 vintage 7.1MP) camera fixed when it would not power on. The power board failed. Cost to repair was $175 which is more than the value of the camera but I use it when I travel so I had it fixed. The decision is yours. Call around and ask and if they don't work on your camera they might know someone who does. Good luck!
