I have a Canon EOS90D. My camera started not focusing or metering and I get a clean contacts error message. I tried the lense on my other camera and it worked fine on it. Tried other lenses on it and same thing happens. I have got it to work a few times but than it will quit again. I’ve cleaned contacts and it only helps maybe if lucky for one or two pictures and than will do it again. So I know it’s the camera body not the lense. Any suggestions or do I need to have repaired?

Ruby,
You might give Canon a call, explain your problem, and see if you can get an estimate for an inspection and cleaning.

Sorry to hear about your issue. Follow my colleague's advice.
I would also suggest that you perform a full reset on your camera, both main and custom settings. Less than 1% chance that this will change anything since the behavior occurs with more than one lens. The act of mounting and unmounting a lens is usually enough to keep the contacts clean.
Best way to get help is to register your camera in your MyCanon account. You can initiate a inspection / cleaning / repair right from the portal and you'll receive an estimate.

Maybe it was just a Friday the 13th thing? But moving along now . . . 😋
Are you using Canon or third party lenses? How about any third party batteries or grips, flashes or other accessories?

yeah Ruby, Steve's right- get Canon Service right away. Are the electrical contacts complete?

" I’ve cleaned contacts and it only helps maybe if lucky for one or two pictures and than will do it again."
And once again the often recommended remedy which almost never to fully never helps or works rears its ugly head.
The next one which will not work and is suggested way too many times is a FW update. Never do a FW update on a faulty camera.
"Any suggestions or do I need to have repaired?"
Do the simple easy stuff. A new Canon brand battery. A new top quality memory card. Do a full reset of the 90D (see your manual). Make sure you don't have any attachments on the 90D. Perhaps a battery grip? Call Canon 1 (800) 652-2666
