EOS 6D Mark II Won't Turn On

Hi community, I purchased a new Canon 6d mark 2 last year August... It has never come on for once and each time I ship to Canon  service center for repairs, it comes back with the same problem. This camera has literally never taken a single image since purchase and Canon would not do a refund/replacement. I'm tired of going back and on the on the same issue. I don't know what to do anymore.

"I'm sorry but this is not a customary occurrence.  Canon would not knowingly return a non functioning device."

Canon USA did not return a non-functioning camera...twice. Also they send a bill explaining exactly what they serviced. You should read that and you might tell us here what was done two times.

What store did you purchase this 6D Mk II from? You are not sending it back to that store are you? Are you sending it back for repair with your battery included? You should. The memory card and lens is a non issue. The camera will turn on with or without either or both.

Almost a year later and I am questioning the same problem. Overnight, after a day of shooting, my EOS 6D Markll would not turn on the next day. I have read the postings, but no one seems to have a solution. The one good thing I found, it's not only my camera. Has anyone found a solution.

That’s happened to me, too!  It turned out that my battery grip wasn’t fully tightened.

No problem with my battery grip, but thank you.

Just the same try it without the grip.

  • Without the grip, it won't turn on. I see enough complaints about cameras not turn on (and not just my model) that you think Canon would offer so type of insight. Unless, their not willing to admit there is a problem.

Test the camera without any additional equipment or accessories, just a battery that has been fully charged.   Make certain the doors to the memory cards and battery compartment are closed.

If the camera still won’t turn on, then it probably needs service.

Just tried what you suggested. Not sure that I want to have it serviced. Electronics. CanonUSA has a 5D Mark IV new, for a good price. I think it's about time for a new camera. Camera shop only offered a 30 day warranty on repairing my Mark II.

Thank everyone for your responses.

Well, the story makes no sense on its face. Seems obvious what is going on here. But by all means, keep on posting potential "solutions."
