I've been using EOS Utility 3 with my 6D camera on the Mac OS operating system successfully for 6 years. No problems. After updating to Mac OS 15.1.1, the EOS 3 Utility cannot establish connection to the camera. Error message:
Communication with the camera via USB cannot be established.
Start EOS Utility after closting all the apps that communicate with the camera and then turn on the camera again.
1. There are not other apps running.
2. I successfully connected to the camera with the new EOS Webcam Utility successfully. So I know the problem is not with the USB cable I'm using, or the port being used.
3. What else can be the problem? (I see other people posting about the same problem)
4. i tried restarting again, and still the probelm exists.

The WebCam Utility is probably the problem. It runs in the background on Windows machines. You have to shut it down before the EOS Utility will run, which has its own background app.
[EDIT]
After an OS update it’s a best practice to delete the Canon apps and reinstall them.
