EOS 1000D (XS) won't read any of my SD memory cards

I'm been struggling with my EOS 1000D/XS camera. I gotten it about a year & a half ago and it doesn't read any of my SD memory cards. I tried many different sizes from 64GB to 256GB and it says it can't format the SD cards. What do I do? this is my 1st Digital Camera I have ever own since my 35mm camera gotten stolen from me many yrs ago. I've been looking but nothing has come up to help my issue.

1000D uses SD and SDHC. Not SDXC that you are trying. So buy a 32GB card or less.

Make sure your camera has firmware 1.0.6 or 1.0.7 due to a bug in 1.0.5 and older.

Your camera DOES NOT SUPPORT SDXC SD Cards. It was released prior to the release of them. So stick with 32GB or smaller SDHC SD Cards. Also AVOID using any Micro SD Card in an adapter. Use Full Sized SD Cards from a reputable company.
