Has anyone noticed the degradation in the autofocus of the Canon R5 Mark II? Especially in the video mode, the autofocus is not as reliable as it was before the firmware update.

Hi Sajan,
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the auto focus on your EOS R5 Mark II. We haven't received reports of firmware 1.0.3 breaking focus on that camera. One general thing we would recommend would be double checking your settings. When a firmware update is done it resets the camera back to factory default, so if you customized settings before updating the camera those settings would have been reset.
If you want to trouble shoot the issue we would need some more information to trouble shoot the issue. Is this happening with all lenses you use on the camera, or is it only happening with one specific lens? Is this happening in all light conditions? What resolution and frame rate are you shooting in video mode? Do any error messages show on the camera, and if there is an error message what does it say word for word?

Yes, I'm having a problem with AF especially when using RF 600mm f4 with both R5 Mark 2 cameras I own after the firmware update to v1.0.3. When I use both R5 mkii cameras, AF doesn't focus on the subject especially in the foreground. To insure the lens wasn't the issue, I used my R1 and I had no AF problem with the 600mm lens. With the R1, my 600mm f4 worked perfectly.

Yes-in stills. Focus won’t grab on - even after it had been working for a while. I turned off all power saving options and am about to do a factory reset and re-do. I wish Canon would not advise checking lens contacts, etc., and just tell us when to expect another update.

Greetings ,
I cannot confirm or deny AF issues with v1.0.3. There has been a uptick in users reporting changes in AF performance while others have reported no issues or changes after the update. Some feel it might be related to a combination of settings or customizations, but thus far, no one has put their finger on it. This is something I've been keeping an eye on, but again, I haven't come across anything definitive. v1.0.3 was released in March. Hopefully others can chime in with their experiences.

Which lens(es) are you having an issue with? What shooting mode(s)? Do you happen to have any sample images or files? Does this happen all the time or only in certain situations?
Could you please provide additional information to help the community have a complete picture of what may be happening?
