Greetings!
I am trying to record some tutorial videos for Youtube with the assitance of my GoPro Hero 7 Black and my Canon Digital Rebel T6. I have the rebel mounted above my workstation and would like to use it to get Birds Eye views as well as some close up views of assembly. I downloaded the EOS Utility and am able to record with it, however when I use the 5x or 10x magnification with it there seems to be no way to record or am I missing something?
How can I record both a medium close up and an extreme closeup to switch between the two on the fly without having to do the assembly twice?
Thanks!

The cameras does not have digital zooom, only the optical zoom provided by your lens. Film it twice, as needed.

Correct. But the EOS utility software has it available, just not to record with, so whats the point of having the magnification in the software?

Manual focusing.
[EDIT]. Remember, the video is recorded in the camera, not in the computer!
