Hi, I am having difficulty getting my Canon EOS Rebel Xsi to be recognized on my MacBook Air. I need to download my pictures from my camera for my photography class. Any suggestions?

It should just work. How are you connecting it?
An Xsi might need to be changed to PTP from PC communications.

I connected the cord to the camera then to the USB port. I've tried both USB ports. Neither ones worked. Every time I've tried nothing pops up like it usually does. I just used last week. And I used the both ports over the last few days without an issued.

Could be a bad USB cable.
Try running ImageCapture and plugging the camera in.
You can always take out the card and use the card reader - if your MacAir is like mine you have one built in.
