Connecting Canon EOS Rebel T5 to my Android phone to upload videos

I'm trying to find options on what I can do to upload videos from my Canon EOS Rebel T5 to my Google Drive on my Android phone. This DSLR model is unable to connect to my Android phone. So I was wondering if you help me.

I have attached a usb card reader to my google pixel phone and it worked. It has been a while since I did this and I do not remember what sort of cable I used. Once the storage is visible on the android file manager, then any actions that can be done on the files in internal storage can also be done on the files on the external usb storage. This is so far as I can remember.

Hi Guys,

First important note.  John (jrhoffman75) is correct.

@johnrmoyer also contributed.

Fully documented now.  I can't speak for other devices, but these are the results on my Pixel6.  I didn't have my USB-C card reader with me so I used a USB to USB-C adapter.  Card was immediately detected when connected.

Folder Structure (from 6D2) even has an old .fir file

Images (I was able to open .CR2 files without issue)

Tested on Pixel 6 with stock Android 13.  I didn't have any .mov files on this card.  The VLC app should be able to play them back once they are on the device.
