Circle on the view finder on EOS R7

I am a new to mirrorless cameras and recently purchased an R7 and when setting things up I hit something on the joystick and now I have a small circle that shows up on my screen. I can't figure out what it does or if I need it, but it somewhat follows my focal point, and it honestly bothers me. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

I have not seen this before on my R6II, possibly it is unique to the R7, but probably not.  I have several questions, how large is it and what color?  Does it stay on in every shooting mode?  Does the joystick move it?  Is it a perfect circle, with no other marks?  Could you take a picture of it and upload it?

I'm thinking something with autofocus or a control dial icon

I suspect that you could be looking at the horizon indicating display.  Does it look like the image on the lower right?  Pressing [INFO] changes how the display looks.

Thank you for your response.  I tried the manual shooting modes, didn't try and automatic settings. It was a perfect circle with no other marks, somewhat small. I ended up resetting my camera back to factory mode and now it's gone. I do know it had something to do with the joystick though.

Thanks for your response. No, it was smaller than the image you are showing. I ended up resetting my camera to the factory settings and it's gone.

Greetings ,

What lens are you using on your camera?  Are you using an adapter, is it Canon brand?

I suspect you could have peripheral illumination enabled with a third-party lens, (Sigma, Tamron, Tokina) but this is just a guess.
