Canon T8i Locked

I have had my t8i for a while now and I've had no issues with it till now when I'm trying to capture pictures of this massive lightning storm. Made sure my card was formatted and now my controls are locked. I can't get to the menu or operate my camera unless the sd card is out. Any time I try to use the controls it won't budge on anything and just says "Busy". I've used other sd cards but it doesn't change. I changed the multi lock function and cleared my settings but it still won't work. Can someone please help me I use this camera a lot for my business.

hailey,

It sounds like you've done everything you can, aside from a new battery. It might be time to have a repair person look at it.

Alright thank you for your response.

Just checking that you're using a full-sized card. Micro-sized cards with adapters can cause issues.

Also, check inside the card slot and look for any signs of damage (e.g. bent pins). If all looks good, try taking an air blower to clean out the slot.

If nothing works, yes, time to look at a repair.

Is the red light flashing when it says "busy"?
