Hello, so I am taking pictures with my canon and it’s only giving me half of a screen. Can anyone tell me why? I will post a picture.

Your Shutter curtain is broken. It would not be worth it to replace it. Instead look into a new EOS R Series camera as a replacement. Canon has discontinued production of DSLR cameras and EF/EF-S Mount lenses. Everything has moved onto RF Mount lenses now. They're not compatible with DSLR cameras.

Set the camera to live view and see if the live view image still looks the same as the current image. Are you using flash if so what model. If not it still looks that way the shutter may be broken.

I’m not using flash at all. How do I set it as live view?

Yes the live view still look the same.

If the black bar is still visible your shutter curtain is broken. I don't believe Canon still repairs your camera anymore and it would exceed the cost to repair it. I would still call Canon if they can still repair it BUT GET A QUOTE FIRST. If they can't repair it would be best to look into a new EOS R camera.
