Considering buying Canon R6 Mark II for animal eye tracking, autofocus with Sigma 60-600m EF mount

Hello everyone, I've been considering buying a Canon R6 Mark II, mainly for the purpose of its animal eye tracking auto-focus, to go with my Sigma 60-600m EF mount. I know this lens will work with an EF to RF mount, however I also have a 2x sigma teleconverter for the lens and was wondering if the auto-focus will still work with the lens, adapter and teleconverter all together. Any information on the mentioned equipment will by extremely appreciated.

Hey Ben,

I use the 60-600mm on my R6 MKII with the Canon EF to RF adapter but never thought of adding a 2X Extender into the mix.

I did have to update the lens firmware to resolve some focus racking but once I updated it was perfect. Have you thought about going to a local shop and testing it out. As much as possible I would stick with Canon extenders and adapters just to ensure you have good communication between the body and lens.

I'd be interested to hear how this goes, hopefully some here has tried it,

I have used the Canon EF 100-400 Mark II with EF teleconverters and an EF to RF adapter and it worked perfectly.
