Canon R100 worth it?

I'm getting used to cameras, and how certain ones differentiate from one another, but im just stuck on which one to get!

I've been doing research on the R100 and it really seems like it's worth it's price, but one thing that is holding me back from securing the purchase is its video quality. I would love for it to do video just as good as it does photography, but im not sure it does.

I'm not looking for anything insane as far as quality goes, (I know it shoots 4K, but not sure if it is as good as it seems) just something decent enough to shoot some home/casual videos.

Does anyone have enough experience on the R100 to share? Thank you!

(Anything within the R100 price range would be best!)

Good Morning,

Since you are considering one of Canon's entry level mirrorlress camera's, I'd like to suggest the following.

Buy the R50.  The extra $200 is worth the features and is a better value.

What you get:

Articulating touchscreen screen vs. fixed display

Higher frame rates (continuous shooting)

4k video uncropped vs cropped on the R100

Its worth the extra money. 💰 and its not much more.  😀

I'm not a fan of video on equipment used primarily for photos; preferring dedicated video equipment instead.  Having said that, it will really depend upon the type of video you want to capture.   Assuming you want to capture events where you won't have lots of time to set up the shots?
