I recently just bought a Canon EOS rebel t4i and it won’t turn on whenever I put a memory card in it. I’ve made sure that the memory card is compatible and that it is closed and it still won’t turn on. What else can I do?

Do you mean it turns on without a memory card?
Exactly what is the memory card you have? Brand, size, etc. Do you have another card to try?
It sounds like you have a defective camera.

The T4i is an old camera (circa 2012), so is this a second-hand purchase, and if so do you know for sure that it worked before you bought it? Where did you buy it from?
As my respected colleague mentioned: does the camera turn on without a memory card? If so, you should get a message displayed that there is no memory card.
When you put the memory card in and turn it on, does a red light flash briefly on the bottom right of the rear of the camera - if so, this indicated it is sensing the card.
