Canon EOS R5 playback issue

William4

I have an EOS R5.  When I attempt to use the image playback feature, it works fine at first.  However, eventually instead of images, all I see on the screen is just question marks instead of the images.  When I turn my camera off, that will help, but not for long.  When I try to take a photo, I am sometimes getting an "Err 02" message.  This happens intermittently; sometimes I can take a photo okay and other times I get the error message.  Would both of these issues be related to a memory card problem?  I know that the "Err 02" message does signify a memory card problem; I am confused though why if there is an issue with the card, I can still take photos on occasion.  When I plug the memory card into my computer, it seems to work fine.  I wasn't sure if the playback issue was related to my memory card or not.  Perhaps it is my imagination, but I swear the little light on the back lower right side of my camera is also blinking red more often than it used to do.

I suggest that you contact and set up a service ticket.

William4,

It sounds to me like you have a memory card problem. My suggestion would be to format it in the camera, and if you don't trust that, to buy another one.

The ? mark you are seeing is a missing photo. If you are seeing a blinking red light while you are shooting, that be a situation wherethe camera is trying to write data to your card and it is not succeeding.

I think replacing your card should be your first step in trying to resolve your problem.
