Canon EOS R100 Overheating message

Hey everyone! I'm not sure what to do but I bought a Canon EOS R100 from Canon.com 4 days ago. I just received the camera and when I turned it on, a message stating that the camera was overheating and is shutting down appeared. I literally just received the camera, and I can't even use it because of this. I don't know what to do. Can someone help?

Greetings,

New camera, congratulations.  The behavior you describe does not sound normal.

What is the brand and model of the memory card you are using?  Is it a full size SD card?  Micro cards with an adapter should not be used.

I'm going to assume you charged the battery fully, put it into the camera and turned it on.  The camera reports overheating and shuts off?

Is this correct?

If so, contact the sales department immediately and request a replacement/exchange.  Every camera, lens and accessory I've purchased from Canon has worked right out of the box.  Don't accept anything else but a replacement.  It's should be working from the start.  No support, no repair.  Get a replacement and put this behind you.  This is not the norm, I assure you.  Canon is a good company. They'll take care of it.
