Hello. I am using my 70D as a webcam plugged into an HDMI capture card from the camera's hdmi output. I have the "auto shut off" disabled. However, on video mode, it is still going into a standby after 15 or 20 minutes and aking me to press the start/stop button to resume. How can i stop it from standing by altogether ??

Hi there,
From what I can find on page 59 of the user guide (https://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/5/0300011965/04/eos70d-im6-en.pdf) the camera LCD would still shut off after about 30 minutes in order to save battery. IN order to prevent this the camera would need some kind of input before the 30 minutes is up. The easiest and least intrusive input could be something like half-pressing the shutter button or touching your face on the LCD screen so the camera refocuses quickly.
