Hi there,
I’ve just got a an EOS 10D (DS6031) handed down to me from my father in law, but he can’t find the Compact flash cards. I’m going to get a new sandisk one but just wanted to ask what the max size I can get with this model?
I’ve seen some forums say that I can format the card after downloading the latest firmware on the camera, which can allow for greater sizes.
Could someone let me know what the max would be then, with and without doing this? Also if someone can confirm that formatting works after updating camera firmware.
Just very confused as there are a lot of mixed messages out there!
Thankyou!

I checked my 300D. Same camera generation. Works with a 16GB SanDisk 90MB/s.
The write speed of these cameras are just a few MB/s, and if you get a 8GB card you will be able to take plenty of pictures.

The manual says .....
CompactFlash (CF) (Type I or Type II), Microdrive compatible / max 8GB
One oddity is the 10D is a cropper but can not use EF-S lenses as most crop camera do so EF only.
