I recently bought an used Canon 90D wich is in excellent condition and everything seems to working good. But when I try to connect an external mic (tried with a Hollyland Lark M1 and Rode VideoMic) the camera still uses the internal mic. I've tried with other plugs (the one that comes with both mics are TRS not TRRS like phones does) and nothing. Don't know if I have to clean the input or make a configuration on camera. Would like to know if I can see if the input is broken or damage or something else. Need some help please. Thanks!

When an external mic is connected to the mic input socket it will switch off the internal mic, there's no menu settings to change.
It sounds like the mic input on your camera is faulty if the mics and cables you have used are fine. The camera needs TRS not TRRS.
