Hello,
I don't know what I did to the setting on my Canon 90D, the AF is not working. Instead, I have to manually press the "AF ON" button on the back of the camera. I have had this camera for about 2 years and I mostly use it to shoot birds. I recently did some setting on my camera and I guess I might did something wrong. Now, all the lenses I use, even though I have switched the lens to "AF", the lens is still not auto focus. I have to press the "AF" button to get the auto focus working which I don't really like it. I like the old way when I half press the button, it will auto focus. Can someone help me on this please? Thank you.

OK, I figured it out! 😁
On the custom control, I did not select the Shutter butt. half-press Metering and AF Start. 🙄
I'm so glad I don't have to send to the shop for repair. Thanks all for your replies.
Happy holidays!

Best to reset the camera back to defaults. See page 547 in the User Manual for details.

Thanks for the information. I did follow the instruction on page 547 and also 581 to clear all the custom function. But, still no luck. I still have to press the AF-ON button to use the auto focus.

Greetings,
I might suggest the following. Test with more one than one lens and reset the camera to defaults and retest again.

Hi Rick,
Yes, I did that as well. I wonder if I need to send it for repair. 😭
