I am trying night time photography for the first time. I have my 70D on a tripod, I select M for manual mode, 30' seconds for shutter speed and 5.5 for aperture and press the release and nothing happens, I have tried it with the fold out screen and still nothing. Please help.

How are you focusing? If you are in AF it won't fire if it can't focus. Try Manual Focus.

And use Av mode, to get an idea of what manual settings to use.

Hello,

I’m currently studying my diploma in photography and I’m a little bit confused. On the tutorial, his exposure indicator has a line under it saying wether it under exposed or over exposed. I can’t seem to bring that up on my camera what ever I try.  HEs using a canon 7d and I’m using a canon 6D. Could someone please help as to why my camera is not indicting over and under exposure? I have attached photos of my camera and the tutorial to show what I’m taking about. Thanks 😊Photo from tutorial Photo of my camera

I suggest that you start your own thread.
