Hi - I found initially an error 99 in my viewfinder but after doing al the usual things this has not become Error Code 48 - any ideas as I cant seem to find it on any help sites.

Are the error messages appearing without any accessories like lenses, battery grips, or external flash devices. The 60D is no longer being serviced by Canon USA. Repairs are probably not a viable option due to the cost, anyway.

I am a fool! It is the maximum burst number - not an error at all. I never use burst so never took any notice of it - not used the camera in a while! Oh dear!!!

Hi yes it it still there with lens off and mo acessories. 48 - but cannot find mention of that number anywhere I look. Camaera sens to be working fine - guess I will juts continue using it as is. Be nice to know what the code means though.
