Canon 5D Mark II - Viewfinder is small

When I look through the viewfinder on my camera, I am only able to see a small round hole. It looks like a black fisheye ring is around it. Is this a setting or is something wrong with he camera?camera eye.jpg

Greetings,

Yes, initial feeling is a problem with the body.  Will the camera take a photo?

Out of curiosity, what lens do you have mounted?

Is the lens opening up all the way?

Yes, seems to be.

Do you have a lens attached?

If there is no lens attached, there is definitely something wrong with your camera.

If there is a lens attached, there is something wrong with either the lens or the camera.

I have tried 4 different lens (Canon 28-135, Canon 75-300, a Sony one and a Canon 50MM)

Yes, lens is attached. There is no black ring when its not attached. canon no lens.jpg

Is the focus screen in place and not loose. Are you using a 3rd party APS-C lens. They will mount to your camera but they won't cover the 35mm/ FF image circle. The viewfinder WILL have vignetting (black area in all 4 corners). If you take a picture it will look like you shot through a pipe. Also the viewfinder will look this way too.
