Can't register EOS 250D in the United States

I just bought an EOS 250D from Amazon and now the Canon website says that my serial number is invalid and that it was not for sell in the United States.  I can't register the product.  So what are my options?

You actually didn't buy that camera from Amazon. If you did it would say ships from and sold by Amazon.  Amazon itself is an authorized reseller, but they only sell USA equipment. 

Amazon is a marketplace and they don't have 100% control of the sellers on their site.  It seems you purchased a european version from a third party.  This person or business may be engaged in illegal activity selling grey market merchandise in a country or region where it was not intended for sale. I personally would go with the first option and return it.  Then purchase from a Canon authorized and get a camera that comes with a USA warranty.

The fact that you have an EOS 250D says it all.......xxxD models are for European sale and have European warranties. The American market designation for it is Rebel SL3. You were sold a "gray-market" camera which was never intended for U.S. sale.

You didn't buy from Amazon. You bought from a third-party seller who pays Amazon to use their "storefront" and who imported a model not intended for the U.S., thus it has no warranty coverage in the U.S.

Amazon is an authorized Canon dealer. Buy products SOLD BY and SHIPPED FROM Amazon. They will be legitimate American market products. Amazon shows you who is selling and shipping items. Buying from third-party sellers who do not specifically say "official U.S. market product" is risky.
