Camera not taking pictures

Can somebody please tell me what this symbol means?

Hi @BS2312 welcome to the forums what camera are you using. If the camera can’t lock focus it won’t take a picture.

The symbol you provided appears to me to have the icon of a movie projector in it.

Could it be that you are in movie mode instead of photo mode?
