C1, C2 and C3 in R6III, custom shooting modes also register button customization?

Hi. New to the Canon mirrorless cameras and have a query about custom shooting modes (C1-C3). I understand the basics about registering settings however does different custom shooting modes also register button customization. E.g. C1 has the “depth of field preview” button is set as “drive mode” but C2 is the same as C1 but the depth of field button is now set as “pre-capture”. For switching between different genres of photography, I would find this really useful.
Thanks, Nick

Custom shooting modes are user defined, preset camera configurations. Each one completely independent.  You can define custom controls, AF settings, shooting mode, etc. Just about everything in the menus.

Yes.

And on the R6III you can save and reload camera setting to the card as .CSD files, so you could maybe have an Astro CSD file with different C1,C2,C3 for star trails, Milky Way etc. Or wildlife .CSD for birds and separate settings for animals.
