70D Shutter Button Stuck

Aidan
Apprentice

I took my camera to the beach for a photoshoot with a freind, but when I got home I was unable to access any of the menus, view any photos, or access live view shooting. I have realised that my underlying issue is that the shutter button is being physically held down to the halfway position, and the camera is constantly metering for light. I am hesitant to open the camera as I am no expert in that feild. If anyone knows what might be causing this or have an idea on how to fix it that'd be great. Thanks.

Since its most likely sand try inserting the corner of a business card in gap between button and body and move around the button.
