I would like to know why when I set my aperture in aperture prioity mode, the camera will only go to a maximum of 320 for a shutter speed. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

What is your ISO setting. Try raising the ISO, or setting it to AUTO. Test it outdoors on a sunny day.
